Why have new labels?
Vast improvements in energy saving technology had raised these large appliances to the top of the rating scale, where they were crowded from A to A+++. To make it easier to compare products and create space for further developments, the ratings have been revised.
Using new measurements, current models will be rated simply from A to G. This spreads the ratings more evenly across the scale, while leaving space at the top for further innovations in performance and cutting edge features.
