Over 15 million large appliances and over 60 million small appliances were sold in the UK in 2023.   This equates to a market of  close to £12bn a year.

Every home in the country will have at least one domestic appliance, the majority will have many to support cooking, cleaning, food hygeine and preparation, floor care and personal cleaning and grooming. Over 98% of UK homes have a fridge or fridge freezer, 90% a floor care product, 89.5% a washing machine, 57% a coffee machine and 49.5% a dishwasher.

UK householders typically keep their large appliances between 10 and 15 years before purchasing a replacement.
