Repair Champions
Terms and Conditions:
- The promoter is: The Association of Manufacturers of Domestic Appliances (company no. 1465823) whose registered office is at Vintage House, 36-37 Albert Embankment, London, SE1 7TL.
- The aim is: to publicise the true repair stories of Repair Champions to encourage all households to repair their appliances, before considering replacement.
- The opportunity is open to residents of the United Kingdom aged 18 years or over except employees of The Association of Manufacturers of Domestic Appliances and their close relatives and anyone otherwise connected with the organisation
- There is no entry fee and no purchase is necessary to enter.
- By applying, an entrant is indicating their agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.
- Route to entry and details of how to enter are posted on The Association of Manufacturers of Domestic Appliances’ website.
- Only one entry will be accepted per person
- Your repair stories must be true and verifiable as an expert repair carried out by a qualified professional.
- We will select purely on the grounds of your appliance, irrespective of brand. In principle at least one appliance representing each category: a fridge or fridge-freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher and oven.
- In accordance with the law, we will not discriminate on grounds of the nine protected characteristics.
- Closing date for application will be midnight 30 July 2024.
- No responsibility can be accepted for applications not received for whatever reason.
- The rules for application follow: to be eligible for entry you must send a short video (no longer than 2 minutes long) telling us about one of your large appliances ( including a fridge-freezer, freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, tumble dryer or oven) being fixed/mended by an expert engineer or technician. Successful applicants will be contacted, and once your address and telephone contact has been established, with your agreement, we will arrange for a professional video or blog to be produced featuring you and telling your story. We will feature this video or blog along with other promotional material on the AMDEA site and donate £250 on your behalf to the charity you have chosen from those advertised.
- The promoter reserves the right to cancel or amend this campaign and these terms and conditions at our discretion. Any changes will be notified to entrants as soon as possible by the promoter.
- The promoter’s decision in respect of all matters to do with the choice of Repair Champions will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
- Submission of stories will be deemed as acceptance of these terms and conditions and indication of an agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.
- These terms and conditions will be governed by English law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England.
- The winner agrees to arrangements for filming and/or interviewing to take place after they are chosen to a ‘Repair Champion’ and the use of their name, image in any publicity material, as well details of their successful repair story. Any personal data relating to the winner, or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with current UK data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s prior consent.
