Rob Gosling has been appointed as AMDEA’s Head of Technical, Regulation and Standards, which is a newly-created role in the organisation.
He joins AMDEA having spent 14 years at Dyson in various technical and engineering roles. His most recent position at Dyson was Principal Standards and External Affairs Manager.
Rob was an active member of AMDEA and APPLiA during his time at Dyson, so brings with him a strong working knowledge of AMDEA’s member support requirements and a detailed understanding of many of its key work stream activities. He has been contracting for AMDEA since the beginning of February.
Rob will join AMDEA full-time from May 4 this year, taking the reporting line for the Technical Officer roles, setting the strategy and delivery plan for all of our technical, regulatory and standards work. This is a key role, leading the team that delivers AMDEA’s core member and stakeholder value proposition.
AMDEA’s most experienced and respected team member, Richard Hughes, will retire at the end of July. Rob’s priority over the next three months will be to manage a transfer of knowledge between Richard and himself, resetting the allocation and responsibility of work streams within the Technical Team.
Commenting on Rob’s appointment and Richard’s departure, AMDEA’s CEO, Paul Hide, said: “Richard’s knowledge, professionalism, enthusiasm and industry relationships will be very much missed, but I am confident that between us all we will continue to build a stronger and more effective AMDEA.
“I’m sure that you will join me in welcoming Rob to the AMDEA team and that you will remain highly supportive during this transfer of knowledge. We’ve come a long way over the past year and I firmly believe that Rob’s permanent addition to our team will help us continue the excellent progress we have made so far. We look forward to the challenges and opportunities ahead.”
